We throw beans with shouting ” oni wa soto ” ” fuku wa uchi ” and eat ” ehomaki ” which is a long sushi roll.
Throwing beans and eating ” ehomaki ” is for drive out evil spirits and welcome good luck.
It is custom to eating up ” ehomaki ” silently and all it once while facing the lucky direction of the year.
Someone sometimes dresses up as a ” oni ” and ” oni ” express evil spirits.
